Chicks

Today my little animal lover spent the majority of the afternoon across the street with the neighbors and their baby chicks. Angela and Marissa, the neighbor girls, are a little older than Kennedy but are great sports about letting her hang with them. Kennedy loves going over there and getting her animal fix in. They also have rabbits that on occasion they'll get out for her. Today, however, was all about the chicks. They literally spent hours just sitting in lawn chairs holding them. It was super cute and I couldn't help but take some pics. She obviously doesn't get her love of animals from me but she did make me hold one and I must admit that they are quite sweet. I do think it'd still take some major convincing for us to house some chicks or any type of animal for that matter. :)
Ange trying to get the chick to sit on Kenz's finger..
Sitting pretty on hers..
I think this was the wild one that didn't like to sit nice and still..
Six baby chicks.. three on each of their laps.
Three little chicks..
She wanted all six but opted for the calmer bunch and let Ange have the more squirmy birds.

All the chickie's in their tub..
Angela and Marrissa will be showing them for 4-H this summer at the fair. We can't wait to go watch them and pray these little chicks do well for the show.
After her fun day with the chicks Kenz came home and asked when she can get an animal. Daddy said as soon as we're a diaper free household we'll think about it. :) We'll see how many years it is before we conquer that feat.
