Cancun

The last week in January we ventured to Cancun for an amazing week with our friends Tim and Jen.
Everything about the vacation was AMAZING!! It marked the first time we have left the kids for an entire week, thanks again to our parents, and the first time in 10 years that Bryan and I have been back to Cancun. I admit that I wasn't sure how leaving the kids would go, but praise the Lord, as soon as we boarded the plane in GR my mind wasn't homesick or lonesome for even one day. I think being at an adults only resort helped because there weren't precious little kids running all over the place. All and all it was a great week spent with my husband that I'll treasure until we get to do it again. Tim and Jenni were great to vacation with as well. We didn't really think that would be an issue as I think you could go anywhere with those two and have a good time. I'll end now with lots of pics of our wonderful week away. The above pic was taken at the airport in Cancun fresh off the plane. We went from 16 degree temps to 80's.
The view as we walked down to the pool..
Enjoying a yummy drink at one of the poolside bars.

Ocean fun!
The waves were pretty large as there was a red flag out everyday that we were there. The red flag didn't stop us much and we still were able to enjoy some fun in the ocean.

Night time in Mexcio..
Our resort had amazing restaurants.. one of the many things we did all week was EAT and eat and eat!!!
I don't think there was one restaurant there we didn't like. Gotta love all inclusive.

Senor Frogs..
We did venture into town a night and had a little fun at Senor Frogs.
I'm a sucker for pics so of course we ended up going home with one they snapped of us. Only $15 later. :)

Our day venture into town..

Since the waves were so large everyday the guys thought it'd be fun to buy some boogie boards so that was our main goal when venturing into town during the day. We had some fun while shopping..
Our shopping was a success as we found boards.
Another fun fact about these boards is that they made the trip home with us and even rode first class in the overhead compartment from Mexico to Chicago.

Us at Aqua World getting ready to head out on some kayaks for awhile.
Our excursion to Selvatica was amazing... We hit 14 different zip lines, drove buggies for about a half hour, swam and zipped into a freshwater sink hole, and had the most delicious chicken fajita lunch.
Like I said I'm a sucker for pics, so we went home with a few from there as well. A great fun filled day and a must if you ever venture to Cancun/Rivera Maya.

Views from our resort...

We are thankful for the opportunity we had to get away, relax, and create memories that will last a lifetime and praise God for returning us safely home to our sweet little munchkins. Looking forward to the next time we're able to getaway again. (even if it isn't for another ten years :) )
