Last week while our neighbor lady was cleaning our her flowerbeds she stumbled upon a nest that contained five baby bunnies. They called us over to check them out and Kennedy fell in love right away. Since the neighbors had moved them we figured they had already been touched by human scent so we let Kennedy hold them as well. They were super tiny and super adorable. Some of our other neighbor friend's were also over so the girls had a blast playing with the five baby bunnies.
So precious and tiny they fit right in the palm of a five year old's hand.

We attempted to give them a little milk.
Kennedy, Aubrey and Ellie lovin' on the babies.
Angela and Marissa got in on the bunny lovin', as well.
Kennedy begged and begged us to let her keep them. Since they are wild rabbits we weren't sure we could keep them alive, since they were still pretty tiny, so we decided to put them in a shoebox and put them back near where their nest was in hopes that the mama rabbit would take them back. Some say she will, after being touched by a human, and some say she won't. We figured it was worth a try. I think Kennedy checked on them five times after we put them back in the shoebox. Come morning the first thing we did was head out to check on them. Four of the five were still there. yet out of the box. We're thinking the mommy came and removed them from the box. A few hours later in the day we went back to check again and this time all were gone. We're thinking either mommy came and moved the rest of them or they took off on their own bunny adventure. Either works for us and we're just thankful they are gone and hopefully will live happily ever after. Kennedy was a bit sad to see that they were gone, but is hoping we'll find more again soon. Gives her something to look for now when playing in the backyard.
