A Taste of Spring?!

Spring was short lived when this pic was snapped.  The snow melted as fast as it came back during the first part of March.  The kiddos were thrilled however to head out minus snow boots and winter coats.  On this particular day they ended up covered in mud.  Lets just say I wasn't the happiest of campers since my house was freshly cleaned and I told them to stay out the mud.  Guess this momma can't turn her back for a second. :)  At least they were having fun....

Great Wolf Lodge

 On Sunday am we packed up the fam and headed north.  Great Wolf Lodge was our destination and we were looking forward to a couple days of family fun.  The lodge was awesome and there was fun to be had.  I, however, was a tad under the weather so the trip probably would've been a bit better had I of felt 100%.  I put on the best I-feel-good face as possible and we enjoyed all the resort had to offer.

We stayed in a kid cabin suite so the kids had their own little cabin within our room.  They thought that was pretty cool.  I think they enjoyed playing in their 'room' as much as they did the water.

Our kids liked the kiddie pool area most.  I have a feeling in a couple years they'll be all about the big slides.  Kennedy enjoyed going down the green tub slide with us as much as we'd go.  We made Kooper try it and that was about the end of that.  Even dad talking it up like they were going on a space mission didn't seem to help.  At least he tried. :) 

For now the kiddie slides will do just fine.

What's cool is that they stay on in the water and is still pretty looking even days later.

PJ story time at the clock tower. 

The tower comes to life and all the animals tell a story.  The kids were in awe as they watched.

It really was a nice way to end the night.

They even stayed around for picture fun.  Both boys chickened out at last minute so I ended up standing in with Kennedy.

All in all we had a howling fun time at GWL.  I had a minor scare on Monday morning when I thought my daughter went missing, which put an end to our waterpark fun for the day.  Thankfully she was found trying to find her dad, praise God, so other than that it was a good family getaway.   Looking forward to next time.... and hoping for no colds or sinus infections when we go back. :)

Oh Kolter!!

I found this pic on my camera..  Kennedy loves to dress him up, play house, and also play photographer.   Looks like she added some friends to this photo shoot.  I thought it was the cutest thing so I couldn't help but post.  (daddy will more than likely object, but we'll ask for forgiveness later)

Daytona

Bryan and I ventured down to Daytona over Valentine's weekend for a little fun and sun.  The trip turned out to be all fun and not a whole lot of sun.  We stayed with my sister and her husband for 4 days and had lots of fun seeing their life in Daytona.  Kyle is in his last year of chiropractic school so we thought we'd visit before they move back home here to MI.

 We had fun hanging with the Blauwkamp's.  We enjoyed lots of yummy eats, drinks and fun.  We even did a little shopping which was a nice treat without the kids along.  Sleeping in was also a treat.  Like I mentioned there wasn't much sun and the temps were below 60.  Still warmer than the 18 degree day it was when we left.  I sported a tank top for part of the afternoon when we headed to the beach to check out the scenery.  As you can see the rest are wearing jackets so I was wearing a tank top mainly because I was in FL and had wishful thinking of hot temps on the brain.  I later joined the black jacket gang.

 After our beach tour we headed to Daytona Speedway for a little Bud Shootout action.  The track was packed, so we were happy to score some premo in and out parking offsite.  We did a little tailgating before heading into the speedway.

 

Thanks again Bree and Kyle for spending a weekend with us.  We had lots of fun and enjoyed getting away.  Coming home was also good.  Being welcomed back by three smiling faces is the best!

Our Uncle comes home for a visit...

 My brother moved to California a little over 3 years ago and hasn't been home to visit for about 2, so his trip home a couple of weeks ago was a much anticipated event.  Thanks to facebook and other social media outlets we are able to keep in touch which has been nice.  He enjoys watching the kids grow and the enjoy seeing glimpses of his life.  Kennedy and Kooper remember him well.  Kolter was just a baby when he left so he's sort of clueless but did warm up to Uncle Russ in no time.  We had some good family moments when Russ was home.  Hoping we'll see him again and this time in less than a 2 year span.

We went to Fricano's the first night he was home so this was Kennedy's response to him...  beaming ear to ear.

I think she was pretty much glued to him all night.  Super cute since he's single and kid less.  I do think he enjoyed all the attention she gave him and she enjoyed his.

What a blessing it was to have him home even if it was just for a short week.  Until next time..

Field Trip Fun

I had the privilege of tagging along with Kooper's class on a field trip and had a blast at Horizon Gymnastics.  Kooper had a blast with his buddy Gannon.  These two were quite the pair that day.  Kooper loved all the things they got to do at Horizon but said his favorite part was the foam pit.  He loved it so much he asked if he could take gymnastics.  Guess we may have to look into that.  A fun morning was had by all.
