The Hunt Was On

Last night, when the kiddos were tucked peacefully in bed, Bryan and I did a little egg hiding. The kids were given buckets and were able to find the hidden eggs when they woke up this AM. Last night we also did this Easter story cookie thing with the kids right before bed. Thanks Auntie Jill for the email with the details for the idea. The craft went as well it as it could with a 4 and 2 year old as sharing the Easter story on a level that they'd understand is somewhat tough. It will be a good one to do each year though and in a couple years they'll hopefully have a better understanding of the meaning of Easter. What was so cool is that last night before they went to bed we taped up, sealed, the oven like the guards sealed the tomb where Jesus' was buried, and when the kids woke up this morning that's the first place the kids ran to, passing by all the eggs that we had hidden They couldn't wait to see what happened to our cookies. And to think we didn't think they were taking in anything we discussed about the Easter story. God is good and we are so thankful that Jesus died on that cross for us. After the continuation of our story about the resurrection of Jesus we enjoyed our now hollow cookies and proceeded on with the egg hunt. The kids had fun searching for hidden eggs. The eggs were filled with candy bars so that's always a sweet treat.

Eggs

Sunday night we did a little egg coloring. The kids had fun dipping them into every color over and over again. The pink didn't work all that well so we ended up with more boyish colored eggs. Kenz didn't seem to mind. Like I said, they had fun dipping them into one cup only to put the same egg into another right after. Colorful eggs is what we called them. They had fun so that's all that mattered..The little egg holders were also a hit with the kids..

Holding the eggs was also fun. Most ended up with a crack or two by the time our decorating was over. We aren't all that gentle over here.

Birthday Highlights..

Last Saturday we celebrated Kennedy's "golden" 4th birthday and Kolter's 1st. I think the 4th b-day is the most exciting because Kennedy couldn't wait for her special day. I think she woke at least twice the night before the party, rushing into our room during the middle of the night to ask if it was morning yet. Needless to say finding and opening her presents was the first thing she wanted to do when morning finally did come. After opening her gifts she exclaimed that this was the best birthday ever. It was super cute. She was also excited that in a few hours later we'd be having a family party which of course meant more presents.

The kids opened most so I think this was the one and only that he opened, with the help of dad of course, on his own. It's so much fun having a big sister and brother that like to take over.

Cake Time...

I felt a tad bad that Kolter didn't get a special theme b-day, like the other kids did when they turned one, but I figure he doesn't know any different and cake is cake, right? One of the joys of being baby#3. They kind of get jipped. We love you just as much though, buddy.

Mmm -Mmm Good!

As if that wasn't enough grandpa Randy and grandma Debbie came over today for even more celebrating. They were very excited for more presents and to see g-ma and g-pa, of course.

Overall it was a great Birthday week!!

It's still hard to believe that our baby girl is 4 already and our baby boy is 1. My how time flies. We thank God for these kids and for giving us the time we've had with them thus far. Here's to many more birthday's in the years to come.

Happy Birthday Kolter Scott!

Born weighing 7lbs. 3oz. and today weighing in at 22lbs. 10oz. Oh how fast you grew.
Our handsome little sweetie is one year old today!!

He went for his 1 year well child today, nice present I know, and weighed in at 22lbs. 10oz. and was 30 inches in length. That puts him in both the 50th percentile for height and weight which is where he's been pacing pretty much since birth.

We had a party for him and Kennedy on Saturday with family so I'll be posting pics from that event when I get a chance.

Still wobbly, yet walking..

Just a fun little video of our wobbly little sweetie walking just before his first b-day. He's been taking steps for the past couple of weeks now but seems to get braver and braver everyday. Today he really took off by managing several steps at a time, falling, and then getting up only to do it all over again. He can even throw a ball while attempting it. Pretty good, hey? He gets pretty excited about it too which is super cute. Enjoy!
